devRant is going to change the stereotype of introverted programmers. Clearly we are not! We just need the right people to talk to :)

    DevRant is a community where users rant anonymously. Often hidden away... Like introverts.

    @beningreenjam
    People who are introverted tend to be inward turning, or focused more on internal thoughts, feelings and moods rather than seeking out external stimulation
    so in this case us coming to devRamt to rant means we are extrovertimg ourselves. Lots of extroverts do things anonymously, or under cover.
    In any event, I have hope for our typical stereotypes being broken down. It is possible to be outgoing and also good at writing software!

    @mags24 never really thought of it that way, but I hope you're right.

    On a side note, a lot of people think being a geek is something to be ashamed of to use as an insult. I was just talking to my boyfriend about how geeky I am and he tried to convince me I'm not, like it's a bad thing.

    Actually, only being able to express yourself with only a very specific set of people is one of the major identifiers of being introverted. :)

    Honestly though, there are plenty of big communities already for devs to hang out at, and there's loads of meetups. Only people who are stuck in the 90's still think of all programmers as introverts.

    I am an introvert, but I don't feel like it applies to online activities that much. We're all anonymous here.
