So last year in highschool, everybody had to make a website project with stores and stuff. Everybody was in groups and you could plan your time on you own, working in class or at home.

So my friend spent hours at home designing his website for his group, and to be honest, it looked amazing.
There was only one problem, all files were located on a server which was accessible by all groups without the teacher even being able to know who had accessed which file.

There was this one group which just spent their time in class playing stupid browser games, 3 people in a group, one of them looking at kpop and puppy's for what seemed like to be hours at a time.

Well to get to the point, about 1-2 days before deadline, they noticed they hadn't done shit.
SO THOSE FUCKING BASTARDS JUST COPIED ALL THE FUCKING CODE MY FRIEND HAD MADE.

AT PRESENTATION TIME THEIR "PROJECT" CAME UP FIRST AND MY FRIEND WAS TO ME LIKE "OH NO THOSE FUCKERS DIDN'T JUST COPY MY WHOLE WEBSITE".
ANYWAYS, THEY CLAIMED MY FRIEND HAD COPIED THEM AND GOT AWAY WITH IT!!! (They got an A on the Project, my friend got a C because the teacher thought he copy pasted the design.)

I spoke to diz dude who copied the code, we knew who it was, because the others in the group probably dont even know what the copy and paste keys were.

He laughed at me and said, "C'mon, it's not a big deal.."

IF YOU ARE TOO INCOMPETENT TO WRITE A SINGLE CODE OF LINE, THEN DONT FUCKING STEAL SHIT FROM OTHERS WHO PUT IN HOURS OF WORK, AND MESS UP THEIR GRADE. TAKE YOUR FUCKING F AND LEAVE THE CLASS!!!

If you want screenshots from the original and the copied i could try to find them, but i doubt it.

If they don't know shit you could easily have them exposed.
Ask them to change something, what they couldn't do. You however know exactly what file you need etc

@Kimmax True, but it was my friends group and he was too shy to confront them like that, especially not the teacher.

That's a big bummer, but the teacher is a jerk too (sorry to say that). If you get such things happening, you should examine closely what has happened. The teacher should have made questions to find out who committed plagiarism. At best, your friend would have taken the grade he deserved, at worst all of them (even your friend) would have failed the project. If there's still time, push your friend (or his parents) to force the teacher for a thorough examination of the project.

@Qaldim if the teacher would make his job good, he would regulary check the status of the groups.

@stop @Qaldim Yeah, i think he didnt really care that much. Thing is, i really dont want to heat things up, me and my friend will have to spend the next 3 years with that teacher and the other copypaste kid. 😒

And from what i hear, it sounds like managers aren't that fun too... Not really excited of getting out of school and into job life.

That's why i have my startup project as a backup 😁

@Xpenz The thing is, you will leave after 3 years, but the teacher will stay. If that's the way he teaches, your friend will be just the start and more students will suffer. A mistake happened with this project and it should be rectified. I'm not saying you should organize a riot, maybe just try approaching him for starters and see what is his reaction.

Ok thx, good advice. I will try my best to get my social anxious ass to confront him :).

upside, you'll never let that happen to you in the professional world.

    That's a huge leg up.

Perhaps they could see the time when the file was uploaded? This would clearly show who had done the project first, right? I don't know how this works there but you should meet the Dean/Head and complain maybe

The guy who copied the code should have the word "cunt" tattooed on his forehead as a warning to others. Unless of course it's obvious what he is the moment he opens his mouth, in which case it's better to save on the cost of ink. Plagiarism is the one thing that angers me to the point where I could do someone physical harm.
