So I'm gonna attend my first interview tomorrow. Just wanted to know what you all usually answer for the question "what are your weaknesses?". I know there are multiple results on Google for this but I wanted to devs' approach to this

    What are your weaknesses?

    "I am honest"

    Why is that a weakness?

"You tell me you silly cunt."

Be honest for my current job I told them 'I am not the greatest at asking for help, but I'm trying to improve by just asking people if I can run something by them"

    "Those blue eyes of yours"

I sometimes let my own work suffer because I like to help other people.

And I prefer sitting in a corner so sounds are only coming from one/two directions. I dont like sitting in the middle of a sound bomb.

Last place that asked me that I turned it around on the interviewer. It was a panel interview. I said something along the lines of:

"Wow that old chestnut. I didn't think people asked that question anymore and let me tell you why... it provides no value as no one is going to ACTUALLY tell you what their weaknesses are. It's such a cliched, expected and out of date question that people will go into forums the night before and have an answer prepared for it that is scripted.

So I guess if you really want me to answer I will say that a perceived weakness of mine, although some would call it a strength, is that I have a very low tolerance for bullshit"

I got offered the job and got amazing feedback via the recruitment agency. I didn't take the job as I had another offer somewhere closer to home.

Last time I got asked that, I responded, "Not preparing for interview questions."

Needless to say, I got the job.
