i should be paid for the time i spend thinking about code outside of work. i really dislike doing that, but then my brain just decides to dream about code anyway and i wake up at 2am with ideas and a headache

While I have no problem disonnecting my brain. I manage to do it even when I'm working!

If I'm thinking about a hard problem, I take a long walk. Helps to come up with a solution and yes, I book it as working time.
