If one of these fucking deformable object simulations would actually do contact and collision right, that'd be greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat.
😐

How am I supposed to grab the shit with a robot gripper, if shit doesn't do contact friction right? Gah!

    depends on the objects I guess, but wouldn't sort of suction cups attached to the hand help?

    @We3D not in simulation

    @NoMad riiightoo, and I read it and forgot it... simulated collisions can be a drag.. especially if it's 3D...

    @NoMad

    What engine are you using?

    Last I checked both physx and havok handled static friction correctly.

    @CoreFusionX physx doesn't do that for softbodies. Hell, it can barely handle softbodies existing in the env. (it fucks the mesh so bad in some scenarios) haven't tried the other one.

    I'm mainly focusing on mujoco, and lately I've been trying bullet. I'm open to new ideas, cuz I aim for learning manipulation in these envs. And god forbid you try a softbody that is not a cloth or a rubber ducky. All hell breaks loose!
