    You can only be sure if you come back after 24 hours
    though it is better if you don't, unless you have a backup

    Reminds me of the time my hard drive died in front of me.

    I had a similar problem a while back. If you can't figure out anything wrong with your HDD (No sound, heating etc) and can still access all of it, consider this as a preliminary test that it is going to fail sometime soon. I'd suggest setting up a backup system as soon as you can.

    No, since you made your backup yesterday, you just need to get a new drive and restore. Right?

    @DLMousey that sounds more like a Scottish accent to me :)

    @DLMousey rofl :D
    Yeah, I'm in Dublin (moved here a year ago) and it can be difficult to understand some people with a heavy accent, but mostly I can still understand them without too many problems, but with Scots it's just... Oh my god :D

    Backup your shit ASAP and out with that drive.

    My advice: do not switch it off. Get as much data of it asap, but let it run. Cooling down might kill it.

    @Bikonja where did you live before?
    I'm thinking about moving to Dublin or cork sooner or later..
    is it worth it?
    PS: I'm from Germany..

    And sorry for being off-topic

    @just8littleBit I moved from croatia.
    The rent is crazy expensive at the moment here and the weather is not for everyone (really windy and a very small range of temperatures), of coursr there are various issues, but in general it's pretty good. For developers it's great, you put your CV on monster.ie and your phone doesn't stop ringing :)
