i see all this little kids making this discoveries getting money and securing job positions in big companies and building this famous app like the clasic "flappy bird" and I wonder.. how the f//k are they doing all this.. then i discover their is udacity.com, apps from solo learn that teaches you everything! and all source of shit.. so my question is.. why TF am i paying for college?!?!?!!!

    you can make money in many ways,we go to college for many things including getting ready to make money.

    Because you need an on paper degree for some jobs and I believe you learn a lot in school than learning yourself unless you are really dedicated and focused

    There are many ways to carve out a great career. @tomwolters if you really want the degree you are never too old. I finished at night after work, took buses in sub zero weather and got home at 11pm 3 nights a week for 2 years. For me I wanted it less for the money. I knew I was smarter than most people that had a degree and wanted to finish what I had started. Not saying it is for everyone though.

    lol i wish i was related to udacity. then i would of gotten paid for that rant.... it us true some jobs do require a paper degree.. about algorithm. they have classes on that to!.. by no means i am not going to just leave college just so i can find fame that way. its just me ranting because i have to put up with all this college crap

    You should go to college for the 'Science' part of computer science -> fundamentals, mathematics. Theory != Application

    Just finnished the Nanodegree for Android a couple of weeks ago, beats alot of other online courses and even the ones I had at a Swedish university.

    @jorgecastillodp I did the payed version, wanted the code reviews and the certificate. Kinda sweet that you also get half of the Money back If you finnish within one year. Can definitely recommend it if you have been thinking about it.👍

    @jorgecastillodp I enroled before they had the job guarantee as a part of the course. I'm about to fix my profiles and try to get a new job and career, not working as a developer right now.
