As a developer you have a surreal ability to plan the future and you are able to do it even in non-IT related areas of your life. Am I right?

Then, tell me, how many times have you died in your head thinking about "I could just jump here", "if I turn right that truck will definitely crush me", "well, that structure could collapse, how to survive if it happens?". ?

While I drive I often think how a little wrong hand movement could kill someone. Basically the life of any person on the road can end with just a tiny contraction of your muscles.

    Scary.

    But not sure it's a dev-related thought

I don't know any non-dev friend who thinks like that.

Obviously, everyone can think like that, I just think that as devs we will over analyze everything

I can totally relate but I never thought it was dev-related. I asked a counselor about it once and she said it was normal /shrug

    Not just dev-related. Fairly common.
