Getting a file input to work in an Android webview was an unnecessarily complicated process.

I was using an Android app developed with Xamarin. The app was rendering an existing web site in a web view. The web site had a file input which wouldn't work when run in the app.

I managed to get it to work but it was a lot more effort and frustration that it should have been.

There's also an permanent bug in KitKat that means it will never work for those users.
