SSH'd into all the computers in college's lab and edited the bashrc to display "YOU ARE BEING WATCHED / YOU'VE BEEN HACKED" etc.
Everyone freaked out instantly.
Then edited my own bashrc file too so that no one realizes it's me.
I was surprised at how easy it was.

    At least is just a prank... In my school (like 20 years ago) half the computers were off cause of stupid hack attacks (like deleting autoexec.bat)

    @wolt exactly why I was surprised. Though it's only on the really old systems. I guess that's why they didn't bother much about the security. Plus we are using ancient versions of everything. I'm actually gonna propose updating every system at college.

    @daegontaven I kinda did. I wanted to script it but getting the IPs right was trial and error. So manual it was. Around 25 computers. We have small labs

    Does the ssh daemon run automatically on all machines unless preconfigured? Which distro were you guys using?
