@dukesx ok so the webserver Apache and not the org behind it?
  • 2
@dacexi yes since the webserver has a habit of making you bang your head against the wall

@dukesx aight I can see that. I used it like 4 years ago but now I have my own custom c++ server to let me do whatever I want and only be able to blame me if something is broken 🙂

@dacexi you sir ,are the man! Developing your own web server ? You got balls mate !

@dukesx well, you'll get there eventually 🙂 there comes a stage in every developers life where Apache / express does not meet their needs anymore.

I can't believe you used that word! How dare you say Apache...

You can easily make your own webserver with node

I made one in under 100 lines.

@shb743 I checked it out it's great! I was writing my own in Python3, but I kinda got stuck so I'm going to use yours as a reference for some problems. Thanks!

    I'm an NginX guy myself!

@endor It just serves webpages/ files and works with socket.io, uses very very few system resources and runs on a raspberry pi zero with no latency. It's not meant to be fully-featured, the next best webserver. It's meant to be tiny and efficient, and it only uses two of the core node modules (no npm installs needed, no bloat). And of course, you can modify the time script as you need.

    That is what I intended.

@AlgoRythm oh sure, as far as http only is concerned, that's pretty good

This is exactly why I have sworn allegiance to nginx.

    Use nginx or Caddy.
