"Data Science" is this years "The Cloud"

And books. Don't forget books.

I don't know why it's hyped so much.

My teachers at the university a decade ago were teaching me data science, and they already were remembering the good old days in the 70s when they implemented the methods that they taught.

So it has been around for decades. Computers, algorithms, databases, data, and data science.
Why is it only now getting the buzz around?

I speculate that it's because hardware has gotten much cheaper, and now even Papa's pizzeria can afford a data warehouse and data science.

@AndSoWeCode on the other hand, it's a good way to start learning about machine learning and AI if you've been in industry a while and need to switch over
