If it crashes, it's linux :/

Even the OS installation crashes, they call it stable release with LTS.

Win10 installation crashes often enough on my PC. Linux never failed till now. Only that one update from Ubuntu 16.x to 17 where there were no graphics drivers yet and I couldn't boot anymore. But I'm using Arch now anyways. Veeeery good

@legionfrontier It is KDE Neon 5.8.2 LTS

@NoLifeSigns I was asking about which (K)Ubuntu version you are actually running mate, if you are running 16.x then did you install it fresh or went from 14.x → 16.x?

Or you could like... update to its lastest stable version

@legionfrontier It's not Kubuntu, it is KDE Neon. It is built over ubuntu but IDK the version of ubuntu. And yes, it was a fresh install.

@NoLifeSigns when did you download it? how you dont know which version of Ubuntu is it mate? If you download it you should know if you choose to download either Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04, which Im sure you perhaps you are runing the 16.04 version, also did you tried to update your version ... is this your first time using Ubuntu? (or even Linux)

    "if it crashes it's linux".

    Yeah, what about nope.

@legionfrontier KDE Neon is a different distro. Though, it uses Ububtu 16.04.

I have experience with Ubuntu and Linux, but all my experiences are of unstable environment, ugly GUI even with 3rd party themes and icons, and poor networking, graphics and audio maybe because of drivers' incompatibility.

    That's my personal experience.

    Is anyone reading log?

    Says: input/output error

So, seems to be issue with reading and writing data to your drive, either storage device driver installer uses is not working well with your particular storage device, maybe an issue with power supply to storage device or some controller on your motherboard is failing.

If you try same installer on different hardware and it works then it has to be hardware related issue

@NoMad Thanks, I downloaded and installed Ubuntu after that. That didn't crash in the installer at least. 😌
