Maybe that's not true.
And anyway, it's worse when people do not realize they are (really) not good at it .. and they think they're good. -
repstosd757y@spacem I took their skype interview. They asked to code tictactoe in 30 mins , but as per their directions which wasted lots of time.
Then a debugging test, I found 2 out of 5 bugs in the 15 minutes.
I can't believe they expect people to work so fast.
I've been hired to solve bugs in 24 hours that entire teams struggled with for weeks.
I just felt it was a terribly unfair assessment. -
Crazed20367yDamn I wish I had the drive to get in to coding at 8 :( I barely started learning to code in high school, and not even really until right before college.
-
@Crazed yeah. I also feel like I could have occupied my time much better. While I was between 12 and 17 the only thing I did was play league snd other videogames. I had a blast, but fuck, now I'd be able to do much much more...
-
Crazed20367y@gitcommit I played video games a lot too during my teenage years. I was also fat and depressed though, motivation to do anything was pretty slim lol
-
@Crazed I'm sorry it went like that for you. Was depression somehow induced by videogames? I love videogames but I do recognise that as with most hobbies, if you don't/can't take a break from them, they can be a very negative addiction.
-
Crazed20367y@gitcommit nah its genetic, it can be lessened with certain activities though, unfortunately video games tend to be more of an escape than a treatment. I still play them occasionally, but more as a social thing. I've surrounded myself with hobbies that are productive and that's been good for me :)
-
@Crazed good to hear that you are better. It sucks for the genrtic side though. Life can be so unfair, but fuck it. I hope you keep on the right track.
-
Crazed20367y@gitcommit thanks man, I've made some long term lifestyle changes for the better so I'm confident I will

Neo-2627yNo offence but experience!=skill
Im not saying your not good but ive worked with ppl that have been working for longer than me but it dosent mean they are better.
For example im the team lead and the im the youngest. -
repstosd757y@Neo- I agree, but seriously if you looked at my LinkedIn or freelancer profile you'd understand
30 years programming (I'm 38)
15 years as a professional
Triplebyte thinks my coding and debugging skills are poor
What the actual fuck
