lately my IT mantra in the vein of "have you tried turning it off and back on again" has become "did you check the logs for error output"😡

NOTE to all developers of any level: if you want help do your due diligence! Check the logs, try to step debug and at the very least please at least pretend to perform a cursory search

    Agreed, any developer needs to check the logs. But by the same token, those logs need to be made accessible. I worked with some Nazi infosec guys that would not give us access to production logs unless we filled out a jira ticket with a time window no greater than 30 minutes of the logs we wanted to see. Then a week later we would get them.

    @tytho I had this happen. Flipped that guy the bird, and set up my own local environment, and let my PM deal with him and any logged issue that was not being reproduced on the local environment or test environment.
