I fucking hate people that talk bad about things they know nothing about.

The best thing that I have learned is to always keep my mind open.

From "Linux sucks because there is no software" to "MacBooks are just for rich morons" to "All Microsoft tech is shit" to "CS degrees are just a bunch of useless math" to "Bing sucks".

Fuck, what do you know?? You never spent 5 minutes to try them or get informed about them. You have your shitty ideas and will keep having them because you don't care about the truth... You only care about your comfort zone.

Yes, Bing sucks. I tried it. Google shows me better results.
iPhone might suck. I don't know. Never had the opportunity to try one for long enough.

Whenever you're throwing shit at something, stop and ask yourself: do I know the whole story?

    >From "Linux sucks because there is no software" to "MacBooks are just for rich morons"

    Both true statements, MacBooks/Apple have/has dropped any actual targetting towards the users (especially the Pro version) and moved on to just selling straight out garbage which to most people are just now stuck with, because their whole video editing was happening on those devices and the newest version needs the newest macbook.

    Linux is great and all (use it myself in specific cases), but it does lack major software support, where is adobe experience, where is a good non shitty wine port of photoshop (not even talking CC) - I could list tons of things that are simply running either like total garbage or not available at all in linux, its simply not on the level of windows (sadly?) - wsl kind of helps though, to have both worlds.

    Bing/DDG/.. is really fast to categorize - its straight hipster trash which you can make an image yourself by just googling 3 keywords and compare them to google.

    This whole rant is full of shit to be honest. I am pretty sure you are also biased towards some product that you didn't meticulously study before actually making a quick shot image on.

    "All Microsoft tech is shit" is an understatement.

    @AlexDeLarge nah. I always ask.

    "JavaScript is the best programming language"
    "Did you ever try something else?"
    "No, but..."

    @JoshBent A lot of developers use Linux everyday as their only os.
    Do you use it, or you just tried it for one day?
    Are they all stupid?

    @Pizza I used Ubuntu/Debian for atleast 11 years now, used it as my main operating system for 5 (and last 2 on my underpowered laptop on the go). But if you would have read even two sentences, you would've knew why it's impossible to simply live with only linux, especially when it comes to relaxing with some games or having actual professional use - there is a massive amount of companies/software you can't work with, just because youre an exclusive linuxtard. That is also why many install windows either as dualboot or in a passthrough qemu etc.

    @Pizza I agree with blind-bias being ignorant, but having to deal with somebody that himself isn't completely objective about all things and constantly keeps asking if you know all the whitepapers and nitty gritty details of what you're using - makes you look like a fool.

    @JoshBent actually, I use macOS.
    But I have used Linux for a long time.

    You say that "Linux is crap" but that's not true for everyone. It's true that a lot of good software is missing, but that software is not fundamental to everyone.
    (That's why I switched to macOS, btw)

    Anyway, let's not transform this into a Linux war thread ;) that was just a random example

    @JoshBent of course you have to make assumptions... Otherwise you could never express any opinion.
    I'm sure I do a lot of wrong assumptions myself.

    What I'm trying to convey is: always try to listen to the reasons of the other side

    Exactly. One of the things that get me are the salty motherfuckers that say that a cs degree is useless as in somehow self learner > university graduate in every sense regardless of whatever.

    @AlexDeLarge i get you on that man I really do. But I have seen many times in here people completely dissing tech that they really have never used before. It gets annoying. At least that is what I got from the op.
