Kimmax109877yDon't. At least don't expect a power house. If you do get one and rant about gradle / android Studio or slow builds in general afterwards here I'll find you and shove the laptop up your.. pocket. Back pocket.
If it absolutely has to be a laptop go for i5, at least 8gb ram, SSD (M2 preferable) and some bulk storage. Rest doesn't matter or is your own choice -
Kimmax109877y@aitkotw don't recommend what you haven't tested yourself, that things weight half a ton, consumes power like a hungry tiger and gets hot enough to be used in a hot stone massage.
Actually that sums it up - a hot stone -
@Kimmax thanks man I didn't knew that and if that's true then at least you don't need heater in winter anymore.

techneo1547yMSI GP series was my choice. Whatever you choose make sure it does not have a Low power U series processor. Also SSD will make a lot of difference. But beware power comees wirh a price. It won't have more battery backup and ofcourse cost more.

Well as said I am thinking about the Dell XPS ultrabooks series (i7 quad-core) but I'd love to have a 4k Display - unfortunately this one is over the budget my boss gave me (2k€)

I second the Dell XPS line. Lightweight, portable and running on SSD. Very fast and comfortable to use for long periods of time.
I would also suggest a MacBook Pro...but you seem to be against that.

Minnow3When you’re really excited about your new computer
What laptop would you guys recommend for development? I was thinking about a surface or surface book but those don't have dedicated gpus iirc and thus a friend recommended the Dell ultrabooks - what would you guys choose? MacBook is out of the game.
