    Need help too. The RX vega or the gtx 1080?

    @mrmaavin 1080 if you want to game at 4k, vega if you want to do anything even remotely useful

    @AlexDeLarge ehh, honestly i dont see much of a difference between an 580 and this in heavy calculations, but thats probably only my incompetence at lower level stuff

    @BindView remote sounds nice but I don't know anything I could do remote and 4k is too expensive if you have 3 screens

    @mrmaavin strictly my opinions:

    want a good and cheap gpu that can play shit in 1080p: rx460 or rx560

    want a strong gpu for like 1440p: rx580

    for some reason you want 4k: gtx1080

    buuut im an amd fanboy and i would buy a vega instead of a 1080 so

    Turns out, if you run Linux, vega64 beats the 1080ti.

    In terms of raw compute, Vega is ahead.
    Virtualization features, Vega is king.

    @AlexDeLarge
    Faster on Linux source:
    Level One Techs

    Vega56 21teraFlops
    Vega 64 up to 27tFlops.

    1080ti 11.47

    AMD has opensourced the driver stack and that seems to pay off!

    I thought that it was a little bit less anecdotal then it turned out to be.

    Sorry.

    Sandy/ ivy bridge server stuff is pretty often still good.

    Some sellers are just idiots and such stuff.
