I've already ordered one. Waiting eagerly for it. The best thing is that the console has already been hacked. Ready for my own roms :)

Not sure if I want to mod this or not.
Thinking of going Raspberry Pi with RetroPie to get custom roms. -
I got both versions of the orginal Nintendo. you know the ones that had duck hunt/mario cartages, the ones you blow on to make work.
fuck I need to find some spare controllers and make them wireless controllers for emulators cause I'm really thinking about unmounting my tv and hooking it up now -

I don’t have my original console anymore.
But I still remember the excessive clunk to get the cartridge in, only to take it out and blow the dust out every now and again. -
@C0D4 Retropie is not really worth the trouble, unfortunately. I was quite disappointed with mine, as even the pi 3 cannot power any accurate emulation.
Games with special chips like Megaman X2 or 3 would lag like hell. Secret of Evermore had random crashes. Other games would Glitch and have distorted audio. Not even touching on other problems like Bluetooth connection issues.
It's only really good for most well known mainstream games. -
@C0D4 I went that route. It works perfectly. And 8bitdo sells these wireless snes controllers, I'm really happy with mine.
-
@Makenshi that's strange. I installed mine on a pi 3, I have had zero issues playing any games at all. Could it be too old/slow of an SD card maybe? Maybe don't have enough free space for swap?
-
@codePatrol No, the SD card was fine. Some of the issues I mentioned are well known. The pi3 simply can't emulated super fx games well.
We most likely tried different games. Some would run o.k. but not great. Mostly due to this incorrect emulation by the snes9x2010 core. Accurate cores like bsnes are too much for the pi3.
The 8bitdo gamepads are really great though. Unfortunally I experienced input lag through Bluetooth. Especially memorizable in Megaman X. : (
I got myself an Nvidia Shield in the end. Real powerhouse as a media center. Runs accurate cores in Retroarch with no input lag. -
@C0D4 The other day I heard that blowing away the dust is rather bad, because the contacts get damp. But as kids, we all did it.
-

I’ll keep that in mind.
I would have though the pi3 could run them or atleast most roms.
They shouldn’t take to much to emulate really for the most part?
As for Bluetooth controllers, I would expect lag of some kind.
the SNES classic has some minor lag and it’s wired but I guess I can forgive it as it’s 25 year old games.
@tracktraps
Haha I can see how it could create problems, but I did it any way and never had an issue with the cartridges. -
@Makenshi Nvidia shield should be more than capable. Sweet system. Sucks about the 8bitdo, they're awesome.
