Took a major blow to the confidence today. Had a call with FanDuel for a devops position. By the end of the call we both knew I didn't have the experience for it. I expected that. I asked to be considered for a Java position and she was less than enthusiastic based on my CV (resume). I've been a Java dev for 4 years :(

Ah well, just need to shake it off and move on!

yea shake that off - you're not going to win every battle, but that doesn't mean you didn't belong in the fight!

Yeah.. Need to brush off and move on.. Had interviewed for a dev position at a startup few years back and some of the questions asked were bouncing off the top of my head.. I was rather embarrassed at the end..

@g-m-f Yes, noted all the points and first thing I did was read up on them.

It happens. Their loss. Stay positive and keep going. It only takes one 'yes'. 😀

Thanks guys. Feels like I'm back in the catch 22 situation of needing experience to get a job, but need the job to get experience! Switching specialities is difficult!

@linux-colonel you don't need a job to get experience.

contribute to open platforms and get some experiences that way.
