coolq48207yThis is probably a great question, but I haven't heard the term "Full stack developer" before. Probably because as of now, I'm a hobbyist programmer 😂
-
plusgut60137yIn my opinion a fullstack developer, is someone who is able to develop on server and client. Who knows how to handle a database with $serverLanguage of choice. And also knows how to handle js, css and html on the client.
But mostly fullstacks are not very experienced, often they tend to specialize and don't care about other stuff anymore. -
spacem18367yI wonder what it is like to have separate front and back end people.. Every job I worked at everyone did everything.
-
plusgut60137y@spacem It's wonderful :) You have experts on all the different fields and everyone does what they enjoy the most.
In the companies I have worked with, there are even specialised people who do the html-css stuff, the ones who do js (me for example) and the ones who do the backend stuff. And that is just great. -
balte22917ya cheap worker (cheap because no specialization) that can put together the initial prototype but that we can get rid of as soon as we need a higher quality product.
also: everyone who runs an open source project ever? because why would anyone help you?

Curious. What's your definition of a full stack developer?
Is it just about knowing all necessary languages? Does it also include various business oriented soft-skills? What about handling server and stuffs?
It is a new term I have been seeing a lot lately (especially after 2016, if I'm not wrong). Of course, I could google and look for the answers but I prefer to know devrant community edition 😀
