Why would Apple ever limit iOS developers to the Safari WebKit? They're basically saying no to wonderful things like Electron - and proper surfing, when you think about it...

    Because it's Apple, it's what they've been doing for a long time.

    @irene Well, it's all about the idea of being able to program one application for multiple devices. By using electron one can program a website, and port it to a desktop application i no time. Also, it actually runs rather robust

    @irene First of all, a desktop application has access to the native OS features, something a web app doesn't have. Second, some users prefer a standalone application. Take Slack for example. It pretty neat having it in its own application, and having the notifications come through Windows and not Chrome
