Client can't pay me and has asked to pay me in four installments spread across on month. Surely to all hell, if you don't have the money, don't hire a goddamn developer!

This job was decided before I got advice from you guys about getting a contract as well!

    Has the project been completed? If not, you still have leverage.

    I got a 25% deposit at the start, but yeah the project is now completed. I don't know how I was so stupid to not ask for installments as I was going.

    @magis maybe agree but say the website (assuming it is a website) can't go live until payment in full. Gives them an incentive to pay faster.

    @magis it's a lesson learned. We all go though this process.
