Question for the Android users!
I'm tired of Google and its intrusive apps and shit so I'm thinking installing a custom ROM, but I see that there are plenty of them (Lineage, Paranoid, Dirty Unicorns, etc etc), so I'm looking for advice ✌️😎

Don't and turn off all the intrusive apps so you keep your warranty?

@filthyranter mostly looking for good battery and stability, I would probably have taken Lineage OS, it was my main choice, already user CyanogenMod in the past and was really happy with it

@projektaquarius it's not a 800€ Samsung phone haha, just a little Moto G4, already 1yo, and there are apps you just can't uninstall or turn off, and I really don't like this Google Feed thingy

@projektaquarius Haha. Warranty. That's probably the first thing that goes away with all of my devices as soon as I turn them on. Unofficially overclocked my RasPi recently → Bye bye warranty for that

From all the piles of projects I have working on, I have been messing around the Idea of make an appstore out of FDroid Server but with way less restrictions and not as cancer ridden as Aptoid can get sometimes.
Who wants to jump into this no brakes train? The Trainwreck may be epic!

@miazukee really? I was actually surprised about everything I was able to turn off on my Galaxy S6.

@filthyranter I like warranties because dumb things happen to my stuff. Not like average dumb stuff either. Like I water damaged a phone once in a series of unfortunate events that ended with me drop kicking my phone into a patch of very wet grass during a rain storm.

@projektaquarius my bad, you're right I just tried to "disable" the Google app and it worked 😅 except that I didn't have a launcher anymore, but I installed Nova and now no more intrusive apps, thanks buddy ✌️

@miazukee yeah I think that is part of the general privacy law. By leaving Google stuff on you are implicitly accepting their data collection policy but they have to give you a way to opt out so they give you the ability to turn stuff off.

@projektaquarius Didn't know dropkicks are covered by warranty 😏
