I work in an agile environment and I act as scrum master. There is one team member I have been trying to get on the rails for two years now. Today she went off at standup and one other team member commented it was like listening to a diary entry. It’s true. I’ve been to agile open hours with this problem so many times- glad we are only in the office two days so I can mute myself and react. Anyone else have team members taking standup meetings hostage? I just want to scream !!!

It depends on if it was something important or not. If it was actually important, it was much more important than the standup ritual. If it wasn't important, it was a waste of time regardless of the ritual.

The only case when it can be problematic is when there are many problematic topics and they need to be prioritised. Then you should interrupt and agree when to have a full discussion.

E: I read the rant again and it sounds like it was neither important not interesting to anyone. Maybe interrupt and ask if they need help with it.
