Trying to be helpful to noobs on Stackoverflow and got downvoted. Doesn't seem to be a particularly cheerful community.

    yea it seems to have become a very elitist snobby community, cant post anything without someone editing it to fit the "stack overflow standard", like formatting code when its your first time posting an issue and you get
    "conform to our standards or have your post removed"

    It had become a nasty community. The opposite of devRant.

    @Jumpshot44 that's what I love aboit devRant. It doesn't a have the ego that SO has.

    I kind of get why people there are rude, the noobs that post questions, either never Googling the simple problem they're facing, first search result probably would do just fine, or they post stupid assignments, which as far as I remember are being down voted since the age of yahoo answers. And properly indented code is required because SO questions usually serve many people and not the asker alone.
