When i get kids. They are NOT allowed to have online game accounts until the age of 14.

I'll still teach them how the internet works. i'll maybe allow facebook.

kids on the internet and in online games these days are toxic little brats.

    Amen to that. @jdunla

I see the social elements as the problem. You can chose to limit what your kids do, but if all others do, it may isolate them.

hmm true. like what one of the comments says, i'll let them play with their online games but with chat and voice chat disabled.@CWins

Yeah, I have the same thoughts, besides Facebook.

My kid is allowed to play but with bots for now, ppl are too toxic.

I'll definitely let them have online game accounts. I'll watch out what do they do though.

@Artemix Also, you learn nothing from Facebook. It's just an instant gratification "look at my pancake" circle jerk.

Meanwhile games can actually be good for development. Take Minecraft for example

Kids are little "natural" brats online, not always, but still.

    You’d have destroyed my kife

I'll just be their gaming buddy and bond with them while observing their behavior.

I just hope the next generation will have fixed their "too embarrassed to be seen with parents, even online" ageism by then 😋

I do wonder how the second generation of gamers will behave and what sort of gaming era they'll be dealing with if we're the ones guiding them.

    not wrong

Facebook is far more dangerous than any online game out there.

@Shodan That's why you play from work as another child their age :D

@JonnyCodewalker i don't see those studies reflecting reality

The internet doesn't create the little monsters, it just exposes them.

For me it'd be the other way round. I'd ban facebook from their phones and block it in my home network. Don't care about the rest, since it has become part of our reality, you can't shield them from that.
