I am talking with the tech lead for a solution he is proposing for the project.

I already finished coding it yesterday because of our "just deliver" culture. Our tech lead is opposing this culture. The deadline established by the manager is basically tomorrow.

Is this right approch for a tech lead? To oppose the management established deadline?

A part of a tech lead's job is imo to ensure code quality and technologies used. "Just deliver"-mentality has the tendency to introduce bugs and technical debt.

Depending on how long the software is supposed to live I might just see a guy trying to do his job.

What @Cero says is right. If I may add my 2cents as a consultant.

" I seldomly agree with what management wants, because they almost always never know what they truly want".

@Cero You might be right. Thanks

When managers establish deadlines, they are always wrong.
Either they push it too far (possible in theory, but never observed in practice) or they drag it too close. Mostly to achieve some arbitrary goal.
Dev teams must establish deadlines, that is just how long things take to make.
