It's 03:43 bst here and the dicks across the hall are still playing ridiculously loud music, and despite me asking them to shut up since I'm in work at 7 they refused. A quick nmap and I have the mac of the desktop playing the music....

I feel your pain. I sit in between two separate areas where music is played loudly, that means I can hear music from 2 separate sources at the same time. Even when I have headphones on I can hear it over my music. It's very distracting. Sometimes I just feel like blasting metal music so they can relate, but then I think I don't want to be a dick and just don't do it.

There's a video of a guy on YouTube that coded an app that he hooked up to a microphone taped on his wall. The app would analyze the decibel level of the audio, and whenever it hit a certain level, it would trigger a 20-30 second loop of some loud metal music that was played through two big ass sub woofers pointed at the wall.

... I think he said it worked after a week.

There was a lady who lived above me used to have mid week parties.

She stopped after a run in having left green day blasting for 14 hours one Saturday evening to Sunday morning while I went and stayed at a girlfriends.
