Or assuming that old machine has hdd, just buy a new ssd, do a fresh install on it and then scan the old hdd as an external drive and use it as backup.

Its not good if you did the bare minimum and showed zero initiative, and if it was fine for you to spend first month while literally doing nothing. Lead seems to be an asshole, but for some reason it doesnt sound like you had any sense of urgency or ownership there either.

@oiledwheels Remote talent my ass. Remote work nowadays has become joining daily for a 15min standup, replying to messages and going afk for the rest of the day. Then at the end of sprint pushing some code changes and working on them on next sprint until you get assigned another task. Some of them dont even hide it anymore, they stay offline in slack throughout the day.

Yesterday this other dev pushed a broken change because he didnt even bother to try compiling it on his machine. Didnt even know how to find the issue in pipeline logs, so we ended up sharing a patch to fix the issue and that dev disappeared for 2 days, couldnt even bother to push that patch to git so we ended doing it ourselves.

Tbh I can never get used to recruiters sucking at basic communication so much. Its like being a recruiter attracts a certain type of person who sucks at everything and this job is his last hope, but instead of improving themselves they just play the numbers game until they get lucky and they place someone.
