I see it like this: As it gives you an exact answer to your specific problem (assuming it's right) it's no better than asking your IT bro for every issue you have with your system instead of trying for one second to solve it on your own. I find gpt most useful to learn specific features of any language, like reading out files, without having to crawl through the documentation.

Now take the M in Linux for Mailinglist which is the dumbest way of communication ever invented but for some unknown reasons still is the only way to contribute to the Linux kernel and the main reason for it dying a painful death.
-
@linuxxx Oh that's good to know, because I never bothered adding a banner 😂

Once I created a simple website for a customer. He wanted an image carousel at the top that rotates through a set of images every few seconds. So I did that and realized it's really annoying if it starts at the first picture every time you click on a link. So I wanted a way to store the current index client side so the user will see the same picture as before and if he stays long enough on that page, it rotates further. This actually was a better user experience, but I needed a stupid cookie for that.

There is a Path variable on windows just as there is on Linux. There's just no standard /bin. Put any directory into Path and you can access it from cmd/powershell, just as on Linux. Also there should be a tickbox for putting it into Path in the python installer. Less intuitive, yes, but it's really not that hard.

Guess it's time for another fine beer then.

Make sure the events are added when the dom is built. Either in an document loaded event as @jespersh mentioned, or in a script tag at the end of the body. I think the easiest way to achieve first method is by adding a function call to the onlaod attribute of the body tag.

I am developing the firmware for Microsoft Azure Sphere controllers at work. They have some Linux running in the background and your "firmware" basically is an application running on it.
And believe it or not, they only understand C. After years of C++ support on Arduino, this is still an impossible task for Microsoft in 2019. Don't even think about stuff like rust and go. -
@linuxxx not yet :) but I expect a load of unconvincing reasons why a Mac is better than everything else :p
-
@linuxxx Don't feed the troll
-
Also, putting two of the most used shortcuts ("copy stuff" and "fking die already") on the same keys, has never been the smartest idea.

Not in Kotlin though.
return if (condition) A else B
The only thing I hate about Kotlin. -
Wait a little, it will stop eventually. Either by recovery or blackout.
-
@AI-Overlord A Microsoft SQL server?
-
@linuxxx Fixing a bug but not being able to contribute to the largest open source collection kinda feels against your arguments pro open source 🤔
-
I've read pytorch is easier and more convenient to use.
-
@Condor Well I just know that I have this option ^^ It's independent from the connections and is always applied (maybe overwritten by specific dns settings for a single connection, if not set to automatic).
-
@Condor You're showing the settings of a specific wifi connection. I mean the system wide DNS dialog.
-
Since Android Pie I have this option in the network settings. Can't tell if it's a function from OxygenOS (OnePlus) or aosp.

@kenogo Oh well, that sounds good! I guess by using end-to-end encryption there's no way for a server owner to exploit the fact, that all communication is running through his machine? Also having my own server just for me to connect to the network has no annoying side-effects? Well, I'll probably still never be able to convince anyone to use it ^^

I didn't dig too deep into it, but as far as I understand, Matrix pretty much is IRC? Many servers that people can connect to and chat with each other or form groups. Sounds like a lot of fragmentation and terrible replacement for something like WhatsApp. People need to add the right servers and could find the same person on multiple servers, which fucks up stuff like chat history. That's ok for the use cases where IRC was used, but for simple direct communication? Also, as it needs dedicated servers, it's still somewhat centralized. Just with many centrals. And as long as it's not my server, I'm not in control of anything just as well.
Please correct me where I'm wrong. No hate for matrix itself, I like to try it out. -
My Samsung Evo 840 also just randomly died. Suddenly bluescreen and from one second to the other I had an expensive brick in my pc.
-
@linuxxx That said, titles are still too dark and what about that string(0)? 😄
-
Sad, but true. I didn't work on any private project since I got my job last year.
-
Update check? Or did you turn off that as well?
-
In the installation setup, replace the 'Yes' button with 'Jew'.
-
I tried elementary os and immediately hated it for everything it is.

Shouldn't every site that uses react/angular/vue or whatever break with js disabled? So pretty much the entire web by now.
-
@linuxxx Still waiting for the pic! 🤤😢
