Google allo is the app that brings Google Assistant integrated. I think it's ok, you can't get Google Assistant without Allo so they Assistant is actually part of the app.

In the state ng2 is right now, I'd use it just for the biggest projects. If the project is small I'd choose ng1. Ng2 needs a lot of setup stuff and the advantages it gives (over ng1) are only noticeable in bigger projects. Ng1 has a fast setup and is beastly enough to handle small yet complete projects.

I've gotten a few jobs where I was asked to test stuff in Stupid Moron Mode. I nailed it. Get specialist to do your tests!

I learned by my own and I've always used K&R because it looks cleaner. After years someone asked me to use Alman and it is hard to change habits now.
