I’ve had this before and my god it sucked. When I put in my resignation I blew the whole lot of the overseas devs for there incompetence and waste of company resources and that there loosing proper developers.
No one took any notice so glad I left. -
I first used Amazon CDK to deploy a project that I built a few months into my new job. Have to say it’s really awesome. All we need now is Azure and Google cloud to catch up and get there own packages together.
-
I’ve had this many times, never ends well.
-
@jkommeren yeah 😂
-
@Jaydin you can change the default spaces value in the settings and manually reindent the file. There are also linters that you can install that’ll do it automatically for you.
-
The phone comment I agree also for the love of god sort out your indentation 😂 also 4 spaces? What!
-
@anux I added the thank you note too by the way.
-
@C0D4 your right. It’s not, but in this case it was justified.
-
@Nanos it ended up being 1,898 words haha
-
@jespersh yeah I signed the contract Friday 22nd October, handed in the resignation today so management will get it Monday therefore starting the 5 weeks notice 🙂
-
@jespersh 5 weeks notice.
-
@atheist A fellow nerdcubed fan I approve ☺️
-
@bols59 yeah I’m already talking to recruiters and have a few options so waiting on seeing how they go
-
@molaram in short. Not great 😂 short google search and you’ll get the picture
-
@AvatarOfKaine Yeah Priti Patel is a right piece of work based on what’s came out about there.
-
Brit here. The way the Torries are honestly it wouldn’t surprise me whatsoever.
If your talking about Thatcher, I wasn’t around when she was prime minister but yeah she was awful. Sums up the Torries 😂 -
Those validations make no sense 😂
-
I agree with OP every job I went for before Covid, the response when asking for a remote role. “Oh we don’t offer remote roles” or “ We don’t have the capacity or allow people to work remotely” - now with Covid all those companies now offer remote roles. Amazing, now all I get is remote roles from recruiters too.
-
@AlmondSauce thank you ☺️
-
@heyheni yeah this tweet is only regarding one site that this guy controls so only one source of data so should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
-
@EtherealRage installing gui Linux apps using WSL2 is pretty sweet.
-
@electrineer I did a fresh vm but also did an upgrade on top of my old laptops win 10 machine. Still pretty quick
-
I gave windows insider a shot in a vm and yeah compared to windows 10 it’s really enjoyable, much better performance wise, UI is a lot more modern, windows terminal is great especially when WSL2 is setup.
Still can’t compare to Linux but it seems that Microsoft gave a damn about this release with all the changes, refactors, built in teams etc. Where it definitely fails is for sure the privacy, data collection etc. -
@YouAllSuck yeah I have looked into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen in the latest Linux kernel there are some patches that allow it to work but ideally looking for a Linux solution plug and play
-
@YouAllSuck job wise I’m pretty safe, my manager is currently looking at promoting me to senior some point this year so we’ll see what happens.
-
@YouAllSuck yeah this isn’t anything to do with funding and things like that. I work for a pretty big company and the app I’m working on is legacy (20+ years) and in desperate need of some TLC as you’ll see by my previous posts it has plenty of money and investment behind it.
The upgrade path I got told to take was to do it all in one go. Not ideal of course but I did what I was told to do.
The issue I have here is how I was kept in the dark while I was working on the upgrade, a new path was just decided and no one had the decency to tell me haha -
@YouAllSuck how? That doesn’t make a lot of sense this isn’t something about job security.
-
Have you looked into Umbraco? https://umbraco.com/
-
@shine ah that’s makes sense gotcha 😊
-
@shine I’ve tried vim before for about a month or so purely using vim, setting up a confit with plugins etc I just couldn’t get used to the bindings haha
