Anyway a lot of big companies rely on Java or .NET as the back-end. They use other languages for the front-end.
But if you want to make something pretty UI you won't use Java, the same way that you won't PHP either.

I agree with supporting unofficial apps but I don't agree with putting them in the links on the website. There's no control over quality or reliability in that app since it's not official.
What I think they could do is deploy the app for Windows since it's an hybrid app but it's probably not worth it because the market is ruled by Android and iOS.

I've been doing some interviews just to see what offers I get and things look promising.

@CozyPlanes fortunately the app is running well on all Android versions except on Android 4.3 which happens to be my boss phone.

@gedankennebel he's still employed and he's on their Youtube stream working on the solution.

Depends on the app you're developing, if you need to use a lot of native components of the phone is a bit of a nightmare (even though it's getting better on that part) and also performance is still an issue.
