@darksideofyay Im gonna work remote for a company I've been working with for 3 years now (on and off).
Your situation sounds a lot more complex.
I think lots of Skyping is a good solution 😋 -
I'm gonna start working remote starting September, communication seems hard
-
I hate the bottom bar whenever you download images, I always have to crop them out. :/

@rutee07
"it is yours"
"pay child support" -
@Konsole revenge
-
a good insult is altered to the person or thing it's aimed at
-
@legacy07 @C0D4
all of his experience is in WordPress & VueJS.
I moved the company towards Laravel (PHP framework) about half a year ago. -
@HisAxelency I asked him if he really didn't know it, or if it was just a brainfart.
But he has never used `continue` before, he is used to writing nested if/else statements.
He saw it for the first time in the piece of stackoverflow code he copied&edited. -
I can appreciate that he thanked you. I always feel like Googling is the obvious thing, and telling them to Google might insult them. But that's not the case for everyone of course ^^

@Gregozor2121 apparently it is c++
https://reddit.com/r/minecraft/... -
it isn't a bug, just a surprise feature
-
@bittersweet Markus has made it pretty clear he isn't interested in being a public figure. It would be unfair to say he can't tweet what he wants because he made a game kids happen to enjoy, especially when he hasn't worked on it for like 5 years.
I believe Microsoft's best contribution is the whole rewrite of the game (in C++ I believe), which has much better performance and came with cross-platform capabilities. -
@caap Germany is known for having one of the worst internet speeds and connections in Europe, worse than many less developed eastern countries.
Of course not every person in Germany has shitty internet, but I doubt Stadia will be popular there 😋 -
devRant has a nice mature community, when it comes to dev stuff I'll always choose devRant over any other platform.
I do dislike the rating system, people care way too much about ++s on their profile, it's pathetic.
4chan is great for it's anonymity, it's a site you have to learn to browse which is nice because it keeps a lot of people away from the site.
Some boards are great and have a nice mature community, and some are just completely shit.
Reddit has some nice subreddits, but it has a terrible community, overall Reddit is just one big circlejerk.
I like to lurk on Reddit sometimes, it's one of those sites I'll scroll through for a bit while my game is loading or I'm waiting for a match to start. -
@Konsole why would it not work with tokens which expire after 2 weeks or so, a normal time for an user to be logged out for inactivity.
You can refresh the token if they are active. -
isn't the whole point of JWT tokens that it doesn't require any database queries or whatever to authenticate?
making a blacklist of these tokens would remove that, since you'd have to compare the token.
I think removing it client sided when logging out is sufficient. The client is logged out and no-one else on the device can just log in because the token isn't stored anymore locally -
@EmberQuill Linux subsystem on Windows is good shit

@RantSomeWhere

isn't jiff a furry term?

Most programmers lack confidence in their programming, most of the people that don't SHOULD.
You'll improve over time :) -

@dr-ant side question, how's the c++ job market?
I've been told over and over (by the school I went to, and the people I work for) that JavaScript is the future. 😒
However I'm going back to uni, to actually gain knowledge outside of HTML5/PHP (specifically C# & C++).
Am I gonna be jobless? 😅 -
👄⚡💦

I think they mean
if( python && (C || C++) )
Else they would say ">3 years in Python, C or C++".
but if you're unsure, just contact them. -
I can relate to this. Scheduling a time tends to help.
"now is not the time, can we do it later?"
"sure, when?"
"in the afternoon"
"sure, what time?"
you get the point. -
@rutee07 you bout to fetch these hands
-
@devTea
good point 😋 I suppose there's nothing necessary wrong with it but not programming for so long just doesn't feel right.
I guess it's normal to feel the need to be productive, right? -
what happened?
-
I just try to work around it, mostly by taking lots of notes, also when I make an appointment I instantly put it in my calendar app.
The list you provided yourself would be a great start, I would add reducing stress and spending time with friends.
Besides exercising physically it can also help to exercise your brain; learn an instrument or a language, play chess, use brilliant.org.
