@Hallelouia infix would blow their mind if I tried to break it down for them.
-
@davenall the way they are seeing it is 6 divided by the rest of the equation.
-
@irene Yup!
-
There is an ethical option as well. Explore Polyamory. Ethical non-monogamy.
-
@disolved good to know, but right now git is the last thing on my mind. I'm working 40 hours, trying to get through three classes, and also having a family. I'll look into it when I only have one class next semester.
-
I'm still in school and just learning C#. I was making a program that checks to see if a number is a palindrome, and doing a check to make sure it was 5 digits long.
I had the work in a method and left the function call in the Main.
I could not get it to cooperate, so I googled. I saw how one guy did it all in the Main so I figured I would try that. When that brought all sorts of bugs I said screw that and went to undo, and couldn't (VS). I finally got it going though.
Fussing at me about version control and git is useless since I haven't dealt with those. Plus I've read most schools don't like you posting your homework to git for obvious reasons. -
I use Orbot and Orfox to work around the sites our work blocks. Most are benign sites, they would just have to register all of them. Less hassle.
-
@akd5010 she's alright. Just ignorant when it comes to technology. Which is funny because she is a transcriptionist and types from home on a computer they provided. I feel bad for her because her tech support doesn't go down to her level to explain things.

You know how some websites that have password input have the eye symbol, or something close to it so you can view your password? My mother in law thought it meant someone was watching you.
She is so paranoid about things like this, like she asked if "they" could see her from the TV. I pointed out that she has a regular TV without a camera, so no. -
@starless I would prefer going to physical class for all my courses, but the school is an hour away and I work full time. So it is night and online courses for me.
-
@ALivingMemory Agreed. My CS degree is only requiring Discrete Mathematics and Calculus. Most of my classes have been coding focused.
-
Been telling my wife to get me one. I pick the crap out of my fingers to the point of bleeding. I'm hoping this would help.
-
@Razze Will definitely be watching.
-
Had a guy graduate from school and started in our IT department as the backup programmer. After two months of being dropped into VBA, when that was not his background, he is now the go to guy for it. He told me he did much googling.
-
@humanbonsai Watching IT Crowd for the first time. I'm loving it! Not sure if I can talk my wife into it though. Any dev talk is like in episode one when Moss goes to explain a simple program and all she hears is white noise.
-
I was always told C++ is like learning stick shift. Once you learn how to operate it, it can translate to other cars/coding languages.
-
@kevbost that was what I was going to say.
-
When my parents worked for a local computer company they would bring me in during the summer while out of school. A programmer would use me for the rubber duck since I was under 10 at the time and had no clue about this stuff.
-
@kevbost what would be a good one? I've been using notepad++ for a while now.
-
@StefanH Our C++ instructor loved giving us this one, and never touched strings with it.
-
@rainmitchell If I wasn't doing school and full-time work I might do that. Instead I may have to settle for a play by post site. Less hours devoted to it.
-
@projektaquarius When 3.0 came out was a few years after my father introduced me to D&D. He took me and bought PHB, DMG,and MM. Never could do 4e, but I did snag 5e.
I have always wanted to play Call of Cthulhu! -
That is awesome. My dad has some of the old Chainmail books plus some of the first books and many from 2ed.@xinuxunil
-
BO? Braces and ?@g-m-f
-
Thanks guys. At least I have somewhere to start now!
-
@dfox That would have been awesome! If I knew enough about Github I would be exploring the code myself.
-
told a co-worker about devrant and he said no way was he going online to rant about work. He just knew he would be busted haha.
-
And apparently I can't edit the comment, meant to have a ? at the end.
-
@thebrendancarr I reserve those for losing train of thought or missing a ;
-
@georgelynch I'll definitely have to check that out!
