@Commodore I believe it to be a combination of both, technical people using a dumbed down system. And ops having configured git instead of using a helm registery

@linuxxx But that is a story for a future rant.
-
@linuxxx I refuse to pay for the service the hosting provides, still have to point my domain to my VPS on DigitalOcean

Simply if you get called and teacher saids put it on speaker, be a rebel. Never hurts to make people mad to break the cycle of power that some teachers take for granted.
-
The only other use case for a mac is to support windows
-
In my company they force us to use a VM, and then head office complains of the VMWare licences being too expensive. Just like apple they create a problem and then try and sell us the solution, in this case it would be dropping docker/linux support and going full windows.
-
@bahua I wouldn't even be mad if that were just only the case. But the fact that it doesn't work properly just outrages me even more.
It should be that I give up my privacy for convenience, but if it is not usable why would I even bother. -
Windows keeps adding new features, but still fail to notice that fundamental features are broken, like its camera app and the search results.
-
Office is getting less and less usable every update. Today I accidently put in a foot note and didn't notice until 20 minutes later, then I had to move all my content back above the footnote, but you cannot use copy/cut - paste for this.
Bringing and keeping structure in documents is a nightmare, randomly losing items of unordered lists, getting tabbed back.
I need some \{LaTeX} in my life -
After explaining it multiple times, they at least started saying "we can now use new javascript due to webpack" what is half true but good enough for now seeing as we need to support IE10
-
@M1sf3t Yeah that goose can go duck himself
-
> we cannot ship notifications yet, there is still lorem ipsum
> po: looks good i would guess that that lorem ipsum is like that in the database
> release
> o shit -
@George1 No, but seriously though. There are no objects in C

How I find myself doing it
1. find legacy code
2. create a ticket to refactor it
3. it gets pushed to an obscure release somewhere in the future
4. people keep finding and fixing bugs
5. one new feature
6. 100 new bugs
7. people finally pick up we may have to refactor it, but first fixing the 100 bugs because they are in production releases and customers are seeing them as issues -
who did that? youtube? 🤣
-
Also while having lunch someone often saids something unrelated that makes me jump up and get back behind my laptop because I had an idea
-
@jackconnorhull Same, some people have not heard of jquery being evil and unit tests being possible on FE
-
@DavinaLeong or xss

@seraphimsystems Explains why the bug cannot be reproduced.
