Well, learning linux from Kali is like learning driving with a van, it is possible but not so comfortable =D
You should try Debian, Ubuntu or ElementaryOS firstly
When you are a bit familiar with Linux try installing Arch Linux (for advanced users)
If you are interested in Cyber Security try firstly from web app security, it doesn't require linux knowledge

It is not hard if you like it, believe me
The more inspired you are, the less time you find learning the language difficult

@AlexDeLarge IMO, Flask is optimal for really smal projects, where you can make a structure yourself, where models.py is a small file and where all you need is to run several requests, but if you want a powerfull web app, it just can't be run on Flask, as you will need to do a lot of work to make a good structure
