@Sauruz the XPS 13 developer edition comes with Ubuntu, there are plenty of desktop environments but I personally prefer GNOME. I made the switch a while ago and love it, the only reason I still switch to windows is games.
-
I did the exact same thing with the 13, I hope dell accounted for apples disappointment and have enough stock
-
I just know from personal experience how damaging software like this can be, I am sure you did a good job but things like this can take soo much time and end up being quite expensive in the long run
-
And now when the company gets to 10 employees and does not handle some weird edge case you have to redo a large chunk of it. At 20 everyone hates it because it's getting slower and hard to use and you invest more time and at 30 it gets scrapped
-
Had some fun setting up Traffic Policies today dreaming that one day I might actually have enough traffic to need them.
Only when it's too late I will find out they don't work how I wanted. -
@iDanoo Emacs is really powerful and spacemacs help's by allowing you to use it like vim. Use 'Spc + :' for a searchable list of all commands and there key combinations and GOOD LUCK. It's alot to remember...
-
Recently someone at work has got me into spacemacs it's all the vim commands ported into Emacs and give you a bunch of nice features such as git gutter and linting
-
@rallport they originally wanted three dev's but would not pay for them because they where 'helping us'
-
@Knossos it might help learning but if they start asking questions or arguing about how I do something or think I am being too slow it's just going to turn into chaos.
-
"we just want a small change with the payment system, can you add SMS payments"
-
I have often thought of ways to kill my code
-
I use HTML to hakz you press F12 and then can hack a website. I usually add <blink> everywhere.
-
@dfox Turns out the mail server was trying to send it internally as opposed to using Office 365 because there was a user account with the domain in. I wanted to use an API based mail system but PM said no.
-
If you are doing alot of code in an OO fashion then PhpStorm is probably your best bet, lots of data manipulation Sublime or something to open and edit files that looks pretty go with Atom. Or do what I do and use all of them.
-
@kargaroth if only...
-
I think I can beat you, sprint 9 on a 2 sprint project STILL waiting for PM to let us release it live...
-
Please don't build, please don't build
-
Git?
-
@noda last time it was quite quick, I guess the slow adding of packages and lack of an SSD did not help
-
I want to see the query which is failing xD
-
Err dnf log is spewing up Criticals, I think I broke it
-
@yesh0907 I guess they are all valid points, my only problem with it are that it uses JS which is a very popular but also weird language, I prefer things like Typescript which are nicer to write and allow you to do nice OO things and then compile down into JS.
-
@yesh0907 but new tech is not always better tech, although I will agree it being asynchronous is good, scaling in PHP is not really that hard. What else does it do better? I am just curious
-
@yesh0907 why what makes them better. I shudder at the idea of a JS server.
-
Our first discussion was between Ingress and Pokemon players, it did not go well
-
I always like to kick off Jenkins just before I got for lunch otherwise I can't stand the wait
-
@nerd-san every so often I write things down, shame I can never read them again...
-
I got myself a pair, I will keep these in my top draw along with probably important papers and hopefully never need them again.
-
@RemeJuan Mind letting me borrow them?
-
@RemeJuan I might just get some, I don't know how long I will be able to last.
