@Jilano I've seen that answer on SO before, marking as duplicate.
-
The Twist: he was running an outdated version of Firefox, so there wasn't actually anything wrong with the code.
-
UAC 👌
-
Update: they've just thrown their toys out the pram and locked us out of the server.
Pity the killswitch runs from an external server over a http protocol.
Looks like I'm gonna have a fun day tomorrow :D -
@Kyngo the magical land of eBay ;)
-
I haven't had any issues on my 2013 iMac. Weird.
-
@agusmart because I'm not a masochist
-
Because some of us actually have to ship products on time. We don't have time to trawl forums to find an updated driver for a $4 WiFi card that is breaking our distro.
Debian just works.
90% of my day is spent in OSX. It runs phpStorm, and Termius lets me ssh in to admin all my servers.
10% of the time is in RHEL and DEB, when i'm deploying or doing CPU/RAM intensive tasks. -
@Fast-Nop ha, a LITERAL bean counter. Nice.
-
@ScriptCoded because laws always stopped people doing things before ;)
-
@Nanos Laser safety goggles are the only things that will help you with that unfortunately. You need the lenses to be polarised to the correct wavelength.
-
@cprn I completely forgot my boots were in the picture, so this came off as very creepy for a few seconds until I realised.
-
This featured over on r/cyberpunk the other day.
The future is here, and it's just as shit as we expected it would be. -
@nam17887 I feel like wherever you work, I do not want to work there. Or anywhere near there.
-
@Nanos A couple of my clients servers are capable of about 2TiB of memory (they use like 96GB atm), but damn, 16TB is insane.
-
I had to go through this with our apprentice the other day. He doesn't like me very much.
-
@Lensflare yeah, it's not ideal currently 😅
-
@ScriptCoded they seem to be available for 449kr on webhallen.se
Looks like prices in Sweden are just generally higher than over here :( -
@ScriptCoded Amazon. £28.20 each currently.
Gone are the days of £1 per GB my friend. -
@irene yeah, desk builds always end up costing more and taking more time than they're really worth. They do look slick as hell when done well though.
-
@NonImportant- Panhead woodscrews. Two in each.
-
@irene it's really not that loud under normal loads. About 50dba from above the desk.
Start throwing harder computational tasks and it hits a peak of about 70dba. Same on boot, but only for like, 5 seconds. -
@NonImportant- these are the ones I used
https://thingiverse.com/thing:12584...
Printed using a Davinci XYZ at highest settings, from PLA. Mine is modified with a heating plate to make sure the layers set together properly.
I used two of the "ears" for the front, and four of the ones that support it from underneath. Two in the middle, two at the back.
Had to flip the unit upside down as air intakes/exhausts are on the top. -
I'm tired and put e5670, when I meant x5670. Doh.
-
@ScriptCoded technically £130, it took 20 hours to print the mounts, plus the cost of some screws.
DDR3 ECC RDIMMs are cheap as hell, especially when they come in a refurbished server.
I didn't factor in the cost of the two WD Green 250gb SSDs I put in there as I just had them lying around at work. Even factoring those in, the whole server only cost £200. -
@kescherRant sorry about that, I've been away from devrant for quite a while now, was just on autopilot.
-
@kgbemployee they failed to ever sign their contract, so the project still belongs to us. As far as the legality of it goes, it's our companies property, we can do with it what we want.
They owe us a lot of money (>£200k), we're just protecting our business. -
@thezombietux it's literally the same amount of work as with Velcro ties. The only difference is that you have to save and keep track of your velcro ties. With plastic ratcheting tie wraps, you simply snip them off, and throw them in the bin.
They also "bite" the cables better and stay in place for more aesthetic cable bends.
I am literally sat at my desk right now cable managing my pc and if I'd had to deal with unstrapping velcro every few minutes to add in another wire I would literally have gone insane already. -
@TheAnimatrix I found for the times that I literally cannot sleep, but feel tired and WANT to sleep, CBD has been a lifesaver.
Occasionally I smoke weed, but I don't like how "out of it" it put me, whereas CBD isolate just calms my brain down without any of the "high" feeling. If you get what I mean. -
@S-falken aye, I've seen people like Gamers Nexus do this before. It's a fantastic technique that most people (including myself) would never think of.
