I seriously consider becoming a farmer, so that I can do what I love (programming) in peace.
-
Ah the new generation has become so soft. I was lead software engineer at 12 back at my age. The secret is in the firm handshake. Then they will respect you regardless of age.
-
Nope.
-
@irene Well their domain is narrow right now, and by no means are they suitable for widespread use right now. But all of them have the potential to be used much more when they mature, like many technologies that are usual now.
-
@raffaels-blog @jespersh If I remember correctly, a tactic for that would be to change your wallet after every transaction?
-
@jespersh They are not? How so?
-
All these things are useful and have value independently of the hype some managers create around them.
-
@muhwyndham By "run" they don't mean to hurry and finish it, but to run away from your "friends". But well, you will find out better yourself.
-
@Prophetcrysis But Google does state that in Android it uses your habits to present better ads. There's even a setting to allow or not allow the creation of personalized ad profile.
-
Breaks end. What you need is change.
-
That would be something a manager would say. Why would you be unsatisfied from working hard, being actually productive and fixing the problem at hand? It's not measured by lines of code - rather, you should feel better for your final solution was so small and not needlessly bloated.
-
@cbsa It could seem like asking Google to a Greek.
-
The part that was dumb is this case were the candidates being interviewed.
-
Rick and Morty is just undercover introduction to the basics of quantum computing.
-
@mundo03 It is not a thing because they switched their base to Debian now.
-
@brunofontes Apart from controlling whether an app can run on the background through permissions , I think the Android system automatically puts apps on and off RAM according to usage.

You learn at some point that you are never over dramatic about such things. If you produce so much value and all you get is a salary for barely surviving, while doubling your salary would be no trouble, with the company worth ten million and you having a large share in CREATING that value, you can tell what the CEO thinks of you. And if those two colleagues have four times your share and you never knew about it, I doubt they are really friends of yours. Lastly, while you must be repaid for your work with proper salary, when you have a share in the company you stop being a simple salary man and you have a say in the decisions of the company. You don't take orders any more, you reach mutual agreements over the work. When you have a share, you DEMAND that your word has weight. And everything has to be signed in agreements. Even a true friend whom you trust blindly would never let you do business with them without everything formally agreed - I wouldn't.You will grow from this situation.
-
@skprog If it can be done without consequences, consider it done.
-
Better yet, we have a contract 😁
-
They must be forced to create a new windows update every day and apply it to their working machines. The updates will be set to kick in at a cryptographically randomized time. If they fail the daily quota they will be forced to say sorry while crying until an AI programmed in Windows and taking the updates concludes that their apology is sincere. If it's down due to updates, they will just have to keep crying.
-
And what happens if you don't get things done? You're fired?
-
@TheAnimatrix Man you must not be a very bright one, no offense. Check "Like a Boss" by the Lonely Island and maybe you will see some light in your sorry life.
-
Well any high lever language is an abstraction for assembly. If the language compiles to all the architectures you want, it's just a matter of preference (and if not, you can always make the compiler). So, there's nothing you can't do with C++, and there's nothing "outdated" to it.
-
@Elyz He also chops his own dick off. Every day.
-
@devTea perhaps he thought Java was referring to a city rather than the island.
-
@bahua But it can be prevented by blocking microphone permission? Not denying it is happening, there are countless examples, but perhaps taking away all permissions is good enough for Facebook?
-
It's not that hard. You just did not make yourself the simplest question : "If I expect I will get 10 hour work from the old client and take a job from the new client, but in the end the work for the old client is 30 hours, what will happen?". You go with the worst case scenario, that every week will be 30 hours, when you schedule new clients, and allocate the remaining time. You might have more time, but you can't promise the new client. In comparison, I am at university now, and I want to get a job. But I don't because I won't have time for both. If the time is not enough, what will I do? Leave university behind and pass less lessons, eventually staying longer, or do less work and miss deadlines? So I avoid the situation altogether.

In the first of the new movies I legit felt like I was the victim of a fraud. Won't watch the rest.
-
But rant we do nonetheless. Here or on our own.
-
It's in the technical specifications.
