@12bitfloat yea it's getting worse by the minute. The government seems hell bent on going the way of Zimbabwe "but don't worry it'll work this time"
-
@12bitfloat South Africa. Although this appears to be the case in a lot of places these days
-
Recruiting altogether is outdated
-
Are people really that touchy?
Every single place I've worked everyone swore like a sailor and every conversation was a never ending string of innuendos -
@12bitfloat the thing is that we get nothing for it.
Need private medical because state sucks and takes forever
Need a car because public transport is practically non existent and unsafe where it does exist
Higher insurance rates because that car is being used all the time and the roads aren't good
Private security because the police are useless
Private school (or even the decent public schools are expensive) because you guessed it, government isn't there in a lot of places and where it is sucks and is overcrowded -
@Demolishun yea and it's even worse when they can account for stuff... This one mayor was found to have spent 53k on KFC in the spam of 10 weeks
-
@antigermgerm the logistics..
-
@Demolishun I wouldn't be surprised if it comes to that this time. If these morons could just cut the corruption back a little, they'd be able to drop VAT down to 10% (it's currently 15%)
-
@retoor indeed. I was just a little surprised cause when I first spoke to them they mentioned it would be a contract but no terms were discussed so I guess I sort of defaulted to assuming it would be a year.
Either way, it's some security it'll probably be interesting -
@D-4got10-01 the one I went to for this is the only proper one I know of anywhere. There's a bowling alley that had a good couple machines outside and then there's one takeaway joint that a few but that's it.
I swear they were all over the place when I was little -
@CoreFusionX they probably picked them up for a steal from full blown arcades closing down
-
@CoreFusionX nice. I'd like that situation instead of having to drive 22km to the arcade
-
Some things never change
-
@D-4got10-01 yea I just really needed to get out and I wondered if the old arcade was still there. Turns out this is much easier when you're not 12.
I always wanted a lightgun for my PS2 when I was a kid but never got it right -
If we did all strike at the same time the world would end before we got back from lunch
-
@donkulator he does that anyway
-
@jestdotty this is... Alarmingly accurate
-
Somehow I knew this was him before I opened this
-
@Lensflare you know, users, clients, npcs, whatever you want to call them
-
@retoor this one is an on complication type deal
-
@retoor it's a freelance client and I want to get paid
Also poes to you too -
Well I was born in 97 so I guess I'll just shit myself and then cry until someone sticks a tit in my mouth
-
As others have said, fight or flight
-
@jiraTicket I feel this in my soul. There are some things that are better and some that are worse about freelancing
-
@retoor wish I'd thought of that
-
@retoor had one once where I did get an offer but then they rescinded before the start date
-
All true. The problem is managers/PMs/clients etc all want them and take them as gospel
-
@retard Has anything felt real since?
-
Yea they really don't have a foot in reality....
My favourite one from geriatrics is "Yea things cost less back then but we made less"
Okay gramps. You were a train driver and sure you weren't rich by any stretch of imagination but you still had a free standing house in a good area, your 3 kids each had their own room and went to decent schools oh and you and the other blue collars could somehow all afford each other's services -
Not a single one of the jobs I've had was as advertised
