I always hated that windows rewrote everything in a dual boot setup.
Instead, I gave each OS two partitions, one /boot(efi) and one /root.
This way neither one of them knows about the other and only BIOS sees both.
I configured the BIOS default to Linux and if needed, I press F12 on post screen to choose to go to Windows. -
Actually NewPipe is working great!
After commenting on this post, I started my quest for updates.
I searched on their repo which led me to their site where I was instructed to add their upstream repo in Fdroid.
I had to uninstall the app and then just had to follow the steps.
Apparently the fdroid apk for NewPipe is too outdated as NewPipe recommends this solution for faster updates. -
I was a NewPipe user before all the youtube-dl problems but now I miss it.
The repo is I active so here's hoping for a new update! -
@Afrographics @DBX12
I think you want this:
https://github.com/microsoft/...
Check out fancy zones. -
This is a cool open source app idea, great to build together with others.
Looking forward to know more about it. -
@uyouthe I am still considering flutter as my next platform for building apps, can you tell me your opinion about not wanting to touch it with a 10 feet stick?
-
@macbury I do have a Wireguard VPN setup already working, so at first, I'm gonna take this route.
-
@Pyjong Thank you! =) That's exactly what I was asking for.
I do already have SSH on a non default port.
Just have to search up those terms and learn about how to set them up. -
@Pyjong Can you enlighten me on how to push towards a secure instance? What steps should I take?
-
@bahua @pipe Many thanks to you both. Looking forward to look up those resources. 🙂
-
@bahua thanks for the suggestion.
I can see you're a man who likes a good challenge.
@pipe Don't worry, I'm not installing all the plugins I see. I too believe that knowing how to use Vim is a powerful tool and I'm looking forward to grow with it.
Last question, how about vim resources, do you both have any go to apart from the documentation? -
@pipe thank you very much for the well thought-out answer. I started using vim with the vim-tutor and haven't made any changes to my .vimrc yet.
I'm still using default vim config. -
@pmso actually no, last Christmas.
-
Awesome times 😃
About that . vimrc... Can I see yours? I'm having trouble getting mine started because I'm overwhelmed with the possibilities. -
After finals week I was waking up around noon, now I'm trying to revert it...
Going to bed only to roll in it for two hours prior to sleep is exhausting. -
I would get over that with PyAutoGUI.
Not the most elegant solution but one that would solve the problem.

@SomeNone @Dity there isn't one, I was confused about which post category to choose. After a talk with a tech savvy friend I came to the conclusion that not many "regular" people know about Linux. The more you know...
-
@lxmcf How is your backup setup? I have mcwrapper in my server but I still need to issue the backup command every once in a while. Do you have automated backups?
-
This looks awesome, congrats! 👍
-
@KorDarei oh yeah, I totally forgot about SSH capabilities!
I have it on my thumb drive as well 😉 -
@KorDarei I can see you are using Cmder. What is your typical usage like?
I have it too but always end up using mingw for git and other small dev related tasks. -

With this in mind, I should be a programmer! 😃
-
@HamsterOh I finnaly got your js file. Very simple, very effective!! Many thanks! =D
-
@HamsterOh thanks for the tip! 😃 I like to make tampermonkey scripts to clean stuff up but haven't thought of that nifty trick. Kudos!! 😉
-
Congratulations on that new job fellow portuguese neighbor 😉

First I had my .tk pointing to a 000webhost but now I have it pointing to a firebase site, all free hosting. Has been working flawlessly for over 4 years now. I use it to deploy our research group blog/tutorials Hugo site because the university didn't want to give us a dedicated domain name.
At least we get to try out different solutions. -
I usually get out of those conversations with a "Thanks for your input, I'll take it in consideration" and then I fly away somewhere more pleasant.
-
I am having a similar issue but apparently no ssh config that I have tried can solve it...
I can login in local network but as soon as I use a dns to get to it, it won't login -
@-Tor I had a similar issue when the GDPR act came into action and blocked my app because of ads.
Solution: removed ads completely and called it a feature! 😄
