Same here man. I'm from India, and in university they just made us waste money on CD's and spiral binding and stuff. I mean, you’d think that a CS department will take up all things in an electronic format but no 🙄
Worst part of it all is that all of those are dumped in a corner of some storeroom and never looked at. Its the submission that gains you points. -
Thanks, guys! I couldn't have been part of a better community :)
-
@Fast-Nop thank you for the advice!
-
@linuxxx thanks fellow dev, really appreciate it!

ITS 2020 AND I'M DYING LAUGHING
-
And yes, stackoverflow community is turning out to be quite a drag these days. The fact is people know that as long as they stay behind the keyboards and use an anonymous identity, they can post as much shit as they want. There are a few who seem to understand the gravity of the role and do their best to help you out, but more often than not you'd encounter someone who interprets the policies in the wrong way.
Nowadays, whenever I face a problem I sincerely hope the answer is already there. Also, I rely on github's closed issues more now, if it is something on Github. -
@EngineerCoding what is DDG, would you please explain?
-
Gotta love Perry the platypus! One of favourite shoes.. does it still air now?
-
@themissingbrace @mundo03 I got it guys! Typical thing that I do, completely overlooked the fact that the chrome browser can be rendered headless and it would still work -_- Thanks for the support anyways!
-
@mundo03 turns out I can actually screenshot with headless, I did it on various websites and they turned out to be perfect, its just with the video I cannot seem a way to do the same - apparently phantomJS does not mimic browsers playing HTML5 videos!
-
oh oh, i'm on the opposite end of the spectrum here. Its difficult for me to understand the implied bazinga, but I enjoy it nonetheless ... tbh kind of teaches you to not have a stick shoved up your behind all the time :D
-
@thevariableman thank you so much!!!
-
@Krokoklemme types of objects JS has available. Got it right, though. The original question set by my professor was wrong to begin with in the first place.
-
Warmest regards mate! People let others down when they don't realise their true values, but like-minded people don't, which is why this community is so great!!!! Best wishes, and a very happy new year in advance! <3
-
@geronimo I got that, truce fellow dev! And I do google and stackoverflow my problems, I've got an exam due tomorrow and devrant is, to put it in simple terms, my last straw :-)
-
@irene afaik these are the primitive data types, are there any subtypes of type 'object'? that is what i asked originally
-
@FrodoSwaggins there can't be truer words
-
@geronimo unfortunately I did resort to google, it didn't turn out to be much help [probably because I couldn't sort out the actual information]. The next best thing was devrant, so...
-
@fizzbuzzCoder IKR!!! But somehow my guide wants me to use them to do a facerec system -_-
-
@gintko yep, I'll issue another notice with the portal and then start with it, it's high time these bitches realise work doesn't come in free even from interns!
-
@gintko like I said, I learnt it the hard way. And yes, the contract specifies every single thing, including an annexure. Unfortunately being a student in India and filing suits don't go hand-in-hand from my experience, none of the ppl I turned to could provide me with a handy reference :(
-
@C0D4 I learned that the hard way, and TBH I have been planning on implementing that last bit of your advice on every single script I share from now on.
-
@Codex404 why am I not surprised :D :D
I got hired recently (my first job), hoping to catch up to other's level of frustration soon :P -
@R1100 thanks a ton for being the first dev to give me a ++! I was looking around in github and found this gem of a site, signed up around 20 minutes ago :D
Wonder why I haven't heard of this before -
Letting your program do everything for you + sitting idly thinking about random stuff the universe is made of = bliss
