It's teenagers and "know it all" student types that cause the majority of trouble online because they're stupid assholes. lol
It would take a lot to actually hit someone in person, Social media always causes a lot of trouble because of mixed company where you have different social structures and relationships with people in one place, for example; your drinking buddies and good friends you grew up with, will perceive you differently than your professional colleagues and people who look up to you.
trouble usually breaks out over something trivial like a "throw away" comment to one person picked up by another and inflated by algorithms.
Close friends and family can be very protective too and that can cause trouble.
Social media sites, know this and they love it, drama 24/7 drives traffic.
Ultimately, online toxicity is designed and controlled by Social media sites. -
I've read through it. They should probably stop with all this crazy regulatory nonsense before other European countries leave the union lol
Exceptions:
"If meeting the EAA requirements would impose a “disproportionate burden” on a business, and if it can demonstrate that compliance is not reasonably possible, an exception may apply. Additionally, microenterprises are exempt from these requirements."

@netikras Everyone must do a great job down voting the spam bots, because by the time I get here they're gone. But I'll keep that in mind.
Who you gonna call?
SPAMBUSTERS!! -
Forgot there was a down vote button, there's nothing really worth using it for and I wouldn't be bothered with childish button behaviour. Sometimes I hit like, sometimes I don't.
I really sleep well at night! :D -
@Tounai Very few people would use a screen narrator, it would be more viable to develop a specialist device for disabled people and that should be developed by large companies, let them pull their weight for awhile. instead of trying to be tyrants.
What do you mean by "enforced by the EU"? -
@retoor I'm the same, very HI-TEC but low-key on my own phone. I usually install apps manually if I need it, there are apps I've seen people use for the light feature that have ads, that's absolutely insane to me lol one of the Easiest apps you can build, I wonder if anyone has ever paid for a torch app?
-
@CoreFusionX The limits can usually be switched off in the battery power usage settings, I didn't want to be a smart ass and point it out after such a good rant lol
-
@Grumm I'm installing an 8 channel HIKvision system with two analogue HD cameras, it's a light system for monitoring one door, the second camera is just for fun which will be installed in a roof space. There isn't much developer support for HIKvision systems but there's an alarm output that can be sent to a host on the network that I can use. The AI detection works perfectly detecting people at the door with zero false alarms when they're walking by it.
-
@kiki I have a friend like that lol
-
@donkulator And don't trust the Chickens, you just know they're up to something...
-
@Grumm Oh fair enough, Cat5 is a suitable standard here for CCTV, it wasn't a financial decision, all of the patch leads are CAT6. I will make sure to only use CAT6 in future, you've made a good point there.
-
Them cyclists are always complaining about their phones! lol
-
@Grumm I could have described the setup better, it's actually more difficult than just plugging the DVR into a router and installing a few apps,
I'm installing 6 core alarm cable for the cameras which will carry the power supply and video feed, the Cat 5 cable for a separate network to connect the LAN router, DVR and outlet points for other devices, single coaxial for the house Rf feed from the DVR and twin coaxial for the satellite feed and all the other stuff like boxes, plates, connectors.
Annnnnnnnd I'm exhausted! You're probably joking around. lol -
@feuerherz Keeping the DVR offline is the main goal, so that it's fool proof, it's all being hardwired around the house.
-
@ScriptCoded The DVR has builtin perimeter scanning that detects people at the door and triggers an alarm event like a buzzer or it can send an email or network event, when it's up and running I can add relays to control just about anything and write some code.
Some port forwarding will put it online if I need it in the future. -
Human beings invented the "toilet seat".
-
Because @JestDotty will cheer you up right?
Right? -
Had to look that up!
8oo8135.
Enjoy!! -
TypeScript wouldn't be my area but it sounds like simple incompatible types are being used, maybe use a global type. does this make sense?
The documentation says:
"any"
can be used to get past errors, it disables type checking. -
Ah, don't get me started on "SMART PHONES". lol
-
The spelling and grammar looks good, but it needs more cowbell.
-
@retoor The only password manager I use is a notebook and a pen, I don't use a lot of sites, also I have no interest in any social media and I've tried most of them, except all of the dating sites, They don't feel organic and knowing how the large platforms work raises a lot of issues that bother me. This site is more my style, it feels organic and it's interesting.
I have an x-box account which has recently been updated so now I have hundreds of "friends" which were mostly random people I've played with lol Now they've made it into a social media thing that I never joined up for!
And I have a Discord account that someone asked me to open and I never use.
I also hate "smart phones" and "smart TV's" It's not that I hate the technology, it's how the technology is being used and I don't trust anything about the companies who have made it big by clearly exploiting the technology and people who use it. -
@Demolishun I couldn't do it, I have a northern Irish accent, slightly more frightening for some but still, I couldn't pull off a Ryan Rodney Reynolds if you paid me.
Did you know he was killed in the X-files too? -
Did you know, if you are developing something important to you that you are not allowed to promote it on Social media platforms, it is registered as advertising and restricted. They really stifle creativity when you think about it. Yeah, I'm gonna pick a fight!
-
Stop trying to influence my brain lol
-
What? You mean that dodgy apps from dubious companies are not actually engaged in shady activities! Wow!! lol
-
Stupid Intelligent Algorithms! lol
Happy Halloween... -
I just want to build robots and study astronomy, everything from gaming to building a cool website bores me now, It's not worth the headache trying to complete with large companies, they've sucked the fun and excitement out of it all.
Happy Halloween... -
@retoor Try an abstract question like, what is the opposite of the colour green?
-
@jestdotty That is the actual definition of both (in my own words), it's well known public information, I'm not just making it up.
