The Phoenix Project made me really excited about DevOps - but I see comments about it being old logic. Why isn't it used everywhere then?

I'm about to interview for a Support Desk position with a year left in college. Studying software engineering, is this a bad job for me? As I get closer to my graduation, I'm going to apply for developer positions, but would this experience hurt me more than help?

Haven't had any luck trying to find a developer internship. Live in Atlanta.

Getting close to graduating and trying to find an internship and I just have one question;

Do project teams in the real world disappoint as much as project teams in college? Or will I actually have people who aren't brain-dead working alongside me?

I feel like my Uni is setting me up more for failure then success.

One of my courses needed for graduation is only offered in the spring of even years. Can't wait for 2020!
