Clients... Ha. I get that feeling just by talking to other employees in my own company. They really will hire literally anyone to work in a factory.
-
Any sentence with "project management" in it really only makes sense if it also has "useless" in it...
-
The intent is to provide a sense of pride and accomplishment by preparing your child for his first words...
-
This sounds... Awfully familiar. Only 25% so far, but might be 50% soon. #shitshitshit

@Orionss whaaaaat. US minimum wage is higher than that! And I've never heard of an internship in IT getting paid less than $10 an hour.
-
Hallucinating slightly about work stuff while sick and half-asleep is always super fun, isn't it...
-
> anything complicated in Java
You already lost me there bro -
@Wozza365 yeah none of my internships (US) were unpaid, this one that turned into a job was $20/hr which is great for my area... But not as much as salaried.
-
@Wozza365 same here dude, I went straight from intern to salaried. Sweet feeling.
-
Been waiting for a RedGate SQL Toolbelt license for 2 months now (since I was hired from intern status to salaried)... The 4 other devs have it, but my boss's boss told the IT purchasing helpdesk guy to hold off. No reason, just hold off. Damn it, this is necessary.
-
I remember when 192KBps down wasn't bad at all... Actually, that was only 6 or 7 years ago. Damn.
-
@AlexDeLarge you missed "project manager"
-
Well there's a thought I've never had 😂
-
@illusion466 yeah true. Funny thing is, I'm not exactly cheap for this area...
-
As a new dev fresh out of college, stop scaring me...

Doesn't allow the symphony to be changed in the middle of the concert. Unacceptable.
-
So sorry about everything, man. If/when they pull out of this, don't ever forget that you saved your parents' lives.

@calmyourtities accurate, to a point... I think Apple's got to do something to keep their customers around now that Samsung, LG, and Google are going the minimum-bezel/maximum-screen route. The iPhone X might do that, for a grand, but the iPhone 8/8+ are now the redheaded stepchild and look shitty compared to competition. They're still fast, good battery, wireless charging, good camera... Great, but what about that ugly old design?!
-
@rc5-asdf Sammy still makes some laptops and based on reviews, they're pretty damn good. Expensive, but so is Apple. Don't own one personally, so I can't attest to any of that tho
-
We have a physical Windows Server 2000 running SQL server 2000 for older stuff we haven't updated... And use VB a lot... And have IIS and SharePoint web stuff. I guess we fit some of the criteria 😱
-
@calmyourtities as an Android fanboy, you're right. Android isn't optimized well. Using an iPhone 7+ for work alongside my personal Nexus 6P (1 generation/year different, I know) and the iPhone flies... For certain things. Battery is amazing, loading apps is snappy, etc. But the Nexus is so much more usable to me - easier settings, better to type on, better camera, better multitasking, notifications actually work... I wish I could have best of both worlds.
-
@mt3o was there for their 2nd summer, we thought we could trust them. Didn't have any issues with them setting up the same stuff elsewhere, so why'd they fuck up here... Nobody knows
-
@ClemFrieckie having been the intern in that position, I'd usually agree with you. This intern was with us for their second summer and had done well enough the first summer for us to trust them on their own for this seemingly simple, hard-to-fuck-up task. Wrong...
-
@githelp VB is definitely pseudocode, I still wonder if it could really be that easy whenever I program in it
-
With our QA people it would be... Wait, we don't have QA people. We're screwed.
-
And play with the accelerometers and light sensor... So bored

Should add a repost-from-Reddit flair (or report option) too, I'm seeing the same shit I saw on Reddit this morning
