@Oktokolo 43 is young?
-
@datajockey Damp?
-
@fiftyhz I agree, Bob.
-
I could copy/paste ginkto's reply. I do love my job. But in the recent years, I have shifted from 100% developing ton20% dev and 80% SEO. Loving it.
-
And then you go and kill the apache and its children.
-
Haha :)
I left because the company had to let me go (due to circumstances which were out of our hands. the business went bankrupt soon after)
and i have built some software we could use internally to make the whole dealership work far more efficiently. I also developed some websites for us, which allowed other car dealers to act like they had our cars in stock, print the vehicle details with their own logo and price and so on.
it was a funny time :) -
Guys, seriously?
An app of this size? Would start from (min) 25k. Euros, not dollars. -
@nitwhiz loooooooool
-
Great idea. I have done the same thing, but with online marketing as the main topic (i am a dev since 2001, but have developed to become a SEO expert).
People are liking it, and you always go out of the meetup with new ideas - and you get to meet mostly great people 😁
I wish you good luck and loads of fun 😁 -
Totally guilty.

I've been working on a cordova app for the last months. Been freaking me out sometimes.
Just the last days I have been trying to fix a stupid bug where on android, it would randomly fire onDeviceReady twice... -
@undef yeah, I have read that. was never in doubt that they use data of this kind.
@devy a good read for you -
yeah, i agree. the transactional queries are shifting more and more to places like amazon.
Pretty sure that Google is going to try to fix that, but I think that they don't stand a chance with their shitty "google shopping/google ads" integration. -
I just had almost the same thoughts. Day was full of shit, as the next days will be. Emotional wreck, and work sucks, too.
But hey, there are people who do care about you. And even me. Just like most of us folks here in the dR family.
Keep your head up. life can be a bitch. but stay strong - it will get better dventually. -
I even remember reading this a loooooong time ago 😁
-
my woman would kill me
-
Throw a few breakpoints in there. (Just walk away)
-
Both
I quit my job last week mainly because of these 2 reasons. I can not work in an open office with speakers all around playing shitty music.
I am leaving for a new job with my own office(and a few other enhancements like having my own team and a shitload of more money) -
@nate Thank you!
-
GF: "Honey, am I your number one?"
Dev, out loud: "You sure are, sweety!"
Dev, in his head "Thank god she doesn't know about arrays"... -
Congratulations. I have quit a week ago.
I wish you all the best for your new job. -
@Root so much beauty created from an ugly mug. ♥️🤣
-
Happy Birthday mate!
-
@helloworld Got a job offer from a customer which is exactly the job I want...
-
Loved WindowsPhone. Developed many apps for WP. MS even sent me free phones to keep and test with. Good times 😀
-
I lost my dad when I was 25, he was 46. Have not had the chance to tell him good bye or how much I loved him.
The pain will never go away. You will learn to live with it. Take some time off if you can. Try to make peace with the situation. And know that it won't help your dad at all if you go into depression or suffer for a long time.
Have a drink on him.
And here, have a hug. Sounds weird, but it helps :) -
@billgates Being one of the very few devs with a lot of experience in a small town of only 42000 people 😀
-
@endor I am 😀 And it's such a lot of fun.
-
No beard and short haired coder here.
Your dad sucks. Be a better one.
Live YOUR life.
And here, have a hug 🍻🍺 -
@Adamu No, it is like @lostinmyworld said. "You code, so do this. It can't be that hard. See: there are Classes and functions and properties... you know how to do that"
:)
