@Froot he wanted to be a java developer.
-
@Linux @mgagemorgan like I said, it all of a sudden decided it needs to be set up again (claimed it couldn't find my WiFi anymore) . App was the fastest way. This discussion is stupid.
-
@Linux dude. I bought a chromecast years ago. That's what you need the Google Home app for. Read the comments. Jeeeesh.
-
It's for the chromecast I bought years ago. I suddenly had to "set it up" again. Via the Google Home app, of course.
-
I'll tweet it to you
-
So you're saying you're an IT support prostitute.
-
Pulling a CK Louis there, eh?
-
Spoiler alert: knowledge not applied, is knowledge not understood.
Apply those algorithms, build data structures (linked lists, skip lists, hashmaps). Send a request to an API, have two processes talk to each other, write a string to file, read a string from a file, write a orogram that accepts parameters which it then prints.
That's in essence all I do when I build API clients. -
@Noob Germany, python/C and 3 years of professional experience with it. As @DasSeahawks points out it'd be more if I had to pay for an office. Since it'd be freelance, I have to take about half off in insurance and taxes. So I'd earn about 30€ an hour net.
And that's fair, I'd say, since the only other administrative effort and costs he'd have is pay the invoice.
And yes, it's VAT, @DasSeahawks. Also, no matter how often you call Neil DeGrass Tyson, that lateral still was an illegal forward pass. 😀 -
@1989 told him he had to give more specifics but my hourly rate is 65€, which is probably higher than his entire budget.
-
@camelCase that looks really boring. How bout some pink?
-
SOLARIZE ALL THE THINGS!

If you want fancy assets, the implementation work flow in unity is the best I've ever worked with (out of unreal, unity and cry engine).
But if all u want to do is a jump and run doodle project, pygame works too. -
Ain't relevant anyway, so...
-
Spotted the non-native speaker.
-
@disolved yeeees, but executing at C speed requires you to circumvent dynamic lookup, which is done by implementing the parts that need to run fast in C and bind it with cython, for example.
-
@disolved or just write C and bind it.
-
Excuse me? If you want speed, use C. If you want readability, use python.
If you want both? Well, go and build that unicorn yourself.
Seriously, it's like people are scared to use more than one language in a project. They're just tools. You wouldn't build a house with nothing but screw driver. -
Ooooh boy you better start running.
-
Someone really didn't want to be on call this weekend.
-
@github, submitted :)
-
I'll add my two cents via pr later today - good job so far!
-
Well, you were told plenty of times.
-
Guido just had a stroke.
-
@irene 😬
-
Flagging as offensive because rango was shite.
-
Wouldn't those be called functional tests? Unit tests for front end aren't much different to backend unit tests. Testing functionality though.. That's a cunt.
-
@IllSlapU thanks, captain. 🙄
-
Stupid assumptions.
-
That's the problem with being the unicorn in a group. Just put them in their place with confidence and you won't hear that shit again.
We had chick in one if my start ups that laid down some serious shade right the first time someone said "ain't you too cute to be a dev? What do you" program" in, lua? "
She just gave him a dirty eye, took the c++ reference off the shelf and said "alright, puts your nuts on the table my nigga, let's play the game."
She knew that thing inside out. The dude apologised and there wasn't a single incident of the same kind again.
