Nowadays I review the changes from VSCode and just use git from an internal terminal for add, commit, push & pull.

I usually split the terminal, so that I have one for git & package management and one for the compiler.

I think, both Flow and Typescript contributed to a better JS ecosystem. Nowadays it's more TS than Flow.

Both are also gateway drugs to using real statically typed languages like Elm or ReasonML.
