AboutI'm a semi-autodidact web and app developer with a major in information systems. I am currently working for a small company doing the things I love (coding in ES6+).
-
SkillsES6+ (deliberately not writing JS here!), ReasonML, React, React-Native, Java, Ruby (on Rails)

You could do that in many (statically typed) functional languages too, you just need to overload the * operator.

@hashedram Not all beers taste like piss.
In fact, small local breweries often craft the finest beers and they taste wonderful.
Too wonderful.
Still, would give up beer because I love coding too much and my liver will be thankful for that. -
PDF is the new WebAssembly!

Also OCaml comments:
(* *) -
@netikras Or double semicolons.
-
Ah, ok. Maybe it's not the fault of Amazon?

Still glad that I could watch it thanks to people uploading it to grey area platforms. -
I still miss @AlexDeLarge
-
Nowadays I review the changes from VSCode and just use git from an internal terminal for add, commit, push & pull.
I usually split the terminal, so that I have one for git & package management and one for the compiler. -
That would be awesome!
-
@pretzlerich Still cool work.
-
But can I date Aliens?
-
@Codex404 For an experienced dev like you, that may be the case. But with that, somebody with less experience can keep the pace with you.
(or maybe not, but we cannot try it ourselves openly for now) -
The license is still only real OSS without the telemetry part baked in.
-
@NoToJavaScript Could happen on everything where a Unix-Shell runs, including Windows (WSL)
-
I open Java files in IDEA and nearly everything else (JS, Reason, Bash) in VSCode and never had that problem.
To me, everything looks different enough to mentally switch between them. -
@Trumby TL;DR: Jordan Walke, React & ReasonML creator
-
And if you wanna tell me that Facebook is bad, I have to say: For ReasonML, there is no big backing by FB. For instance, the two official conferences were not even sponsored by them.
There's an independent association, though: https://www.reason-association.org/ -
Caffeine, yes.
-
@python3 Yeah, but you can easily assign Map.String to a helper variable. Just for the sake of comprehensability it may be better to be a bit more verbose.
-
Once you are a pipe engineer, you never want back!
But I have to admit that it looks a bit ugly in R.
Here's a ReasonML example -
Because after the tedious task of getting it to compile, it will probably also execute without runtime Errors.
-
I think, both Flow and Typescript contributed to a better JS ecosystem. Nowadays it's more TS than Flow.
Both are also gateway drugs to using real statically typed languages like Elm or ReasonML.
And since I use Reason for nearly 2 years already (1 yr in production), I gotta say I love it very much. Never looked back to JS with Flow or TS. -
Whatever, I just let refmt do the job. Life's too short to discuss about what the right bracket or indentation style is.
-
WhatsApp is not suited for professional communications! In fact, many businesses do not even allow it on their phones due to data protection reasons.

1. Laptop
2. Linux
3. Just lemon water, i hate sugar
4. Regular coffee
5. Dark
6. Tabs -
It will sell gangbusters which ist all what counts in the end.
-
Don't forget to completely ignore security. Your customers will make you a well-known brand via shitstorms on Twitter.

I agree, the great (job) opportunities are the ones you stumble into when you never suspect them.
I guess you'd take Debian as a foundation?
EDIT: Because I guess you would need more people for a "from scratch" project. -
@netikras yeah, I meant docs as an umbrella term for docs and apis and other material you need to develop.
-
I guess you have all your docs offline?
